Our Story

The vision for the formation of an Assemblies of God church in Warwick was planted in the heart of our Founding Pastor, David H. Peterson, in the fall of 1986. Warwick Assembly of God in Warwick NYThe church began in February of 1987 as a home Bible study with regular Sunday services commencing in April.

Initially, the church used the downstairs rooms of "The Clocktower'' for it's services. In July of that first year it relocated to the Doc Fry Community Center, housed in a former elementary school, on Hamilton Avenue in the Village of Warwick. Worship services continued there until an agreement was reached to purchase the old St Stephen Roman Catholic Church on the corner of Second & South Streets. Warwick Assembly of God moved into this building December 15, 1991. The building was purchased by the Assemblies of God one year later on December 29, 1992.
