Founding Pastor

The founding Pastor of Warwick Assembly of God is Rev. David H. Peterson. He served this church faithfully for over 25 years until November of 2012 when he moved onto new ministry ventures.

 

Pastor Dave, his wife Julie, and their four children lived in Warwick, NY area since they founded the church in 1987. He holds a BA Degree in Mathematics from Houghton College and a Master of Divinity Degree from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. He is an ordained minister with the General Council of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri.

 

Prior to coming to Warwick, Dave served as Minister of Christian Education and Principal of the Christian School at First Assembly of God in Toms River, New Jersey (1980-83). Then, he was the Senior Pastor of PineBrook Assembly of God in Naugatuck, Connecticut until 1986.

Dave's ministry extends beyond the borders of Warwick and has reached into Central America, Eastern Europe and Africa. He has taught Bible, Theology, and Pastoral Ministry at Latvia Bible College (Latvia), Vilnius Theological College (Lithuania), Kiev Bible Institute (Ukraine), and Tbilisi, Republic of Georgia. These Colleges are training and mentoring young leaders for the emerging church in these nations. In October 2006, he was a featured presenter at the "More Than Conquerors" Leadership Conference in Accra, Ghana. In February 2008, he was one of the teachers at the Bangalore Leadership Conference in Bangalore, India. Most recently, Dave has been working with pastors and leaders through the ministry of Church Leader Insights.
